Prof. Yannis P. Korkolis is the successor to Prof. A. Erman Tekkaya as head of the Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Components (IUL) at TU Dortmund University. His research interests lie in the areas of metal plasticity for metal forming, constitutive modeling, ductile failure, experimental and numerical methods, forming limits, separation processes, and additive manufacturing. He brings to the research unit his experience in advanced material characterization and associated model calibration, especially at high strain rates such as in high-speed blanking.
