Second FOR FUNDAM³ENT doctoral seminar at IUL Dortmund

On August 28, 2025, the participants of FOR FUNDAM³ENT met at the Institute for Forming Technology and Lightweight Components in Dortmund for the 2nd doctoral seminar. After a welcome by the host, Prof. Yannis Korkolis, and a brief overview presentation by the spokesperson of the research unit, Prof. Thomas Lampke, Luisa Schottstedt, Katja Holzer, Elmar Galiev, and Olaf Schrage presented their doctoral topics in short pitches.

DFG research group FUNDAM³ENT in dialogue with the Saxon economy

On 25 January 2024, Prof. Thomas Lampke, spokesperson for FOR FUNDAM³ENT, presented the research content, objectives and the economic and ecological potential of the research group to an interested group of representatives from the Saxon economy. Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e.V. had invited to the 2nd Business Forum at the Research Centre for Materials, Architectures and Integration of Nanomembranes (MAIN) at Chemnitz University of Technology.

International research award: Dr Till Clausmeyer receives the Karl Kolle Prize 2023

The Forming Technology Working Group (AGU) awarded Dr Till Clausmeyer from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with a medal of honour and a grant of 10,000 euros: The senior engineer at the Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Construction (IUL), which is headed by Prof A. Erman Tekkaya, received the Karl Kolle Prize 2023.

Millions in funding: DFG establishes new research group under the leadership of Chemnitz University of Technology

The German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved the establishment of the research group "Functional Surfaces through Adiabatic High-Speed Processes: Microstructure, Mechanisms and Model Development - FUNDAM³ENT" - the spokesperson is Prof. Dr Thomas Lampke, holder of the Chair of Materials and Surface Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology.
